The Pelham is a cheekpiece with combined leverage on the poll, just behindthe ears, and the chin. It can be used with one or two reins, but if you chooseto ride with one rein, this must be done with a connection between the big andthe lower loose ring. The strap used for this is called a Pelham strap. Thegreater the leverage effect, the bigger the impact. This bit comes with a curbchain, which should be well-fitted.

The Slow Twist mouthpiece issingle-jointed with twisted iron onboth sides. Because of the twist,this mouthpiece has a sharperedge and therefore a sharpereffect on the layers than a normalsingle-jointed mouthpiece.This mouthpiece is not suitablefor sensitive horses orinexperienced riders.
