Contains carbonyl iron, 600mg per dose, and is one of the safest known formats when giving oral iron. Has been shown to maintain hematocrit levels as effectively as 200 mg iron dextran injectable format. Even high doses does not induce diarrhea or other detrimental effects in pigs.
